Dr. Ted Archdale grew up in Wisconsin and did his undergraduate work at UW Eau Claire and then his Optometry training in Chicago at the Illinois College of Optometry. Following graduation he then completed an ocular disease residency in Albuquerque New Mexico and since moving has enjoyed living in the west. Dr Archdale moved to Colorado in 1991 and started Archdale Eyecare in 1993 and has become a dedicated eye doctor with over 25 years of experience. He has excelled at fitting difficult to fit contact lens patients as well as managing eye disease, including dry eyes, cataracts and glaucoma. He and his wife have 2 adult children and enjoys the outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer like fishing, hunting, skiing and hiking. His Christian beliefs bring caring and compassion to his practice of optometry. 2 Cor 5:7 “Walk by faith, not by sight.”



Dr. Ryan Bauer has been an Optometrist at Archdale Eyecare since 2009. He specializes in general optometry with emphasis on computer vision syndrome, dry eye and double vision. He has experience fitting 70+ different kinds of soft and hard contact lenses. Dr. Bauer strives to stay at the forefront of eye care, technology and treatment options, if there is something he cannot help you with he has a vast referral network of specialists in the Colorado springs/Denver area that he can reach out to. Dr. Bauer likes to spend his free time playing softball and pickleball. Dr. Bauer will accept a pickleball challenge by any patient anytime!

Dr Bret W. Harrison


Dr. Harrison has been in the private practice of optometry in Colorado Springs for over 35 years. He received his doctor of optometry degree, magna cum laude, from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1979. He has been an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Colorado Optometric Association for over 40 years. Dr. Harrison served on the Colorado State Board of Examiners in Optometry for 6 years and was president in 1996-97. He has participated in several eye missions to Mexico with the “Volunteers in the Service of Humanity” (VOSH), performing eye exams and dispensing glasses to those in visual need.

Dr. Harrison recently merged his Associates in Vision Care practice with Archdale Eyecare and is now working at the north office at Lexington drive. He continues to provide eye care in a family practice setting with a specialty interest in contact lenses as well as the treatment of eye disease, glaucoma, and lasik and cataract co-management.

Dr. Stephanie Bestwina


Dr. Stephanie Bestwina graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry.  Following graduation, she completed a residency in ocular disease at the Spokane VA Medical Center in Spokane, WA.  She has worked in several ophthalmology/optometry group practices specializing in surgical co-management, glaucoma, retinal disease, cataract and dry eye.  Dr. Bestwina also enjoys specialty contact lens fitting for irregular and post-surgical corneas.  She strives to stay abreast of the most current technologies and treatment options.  She feels that the best care of her patients comes from discussing options and including her patients in the decision-making process.  Dr. Bestwina is originally from the Chicago area, and relocated to Colorado Springs in 2014.  She is a member of the Colorado Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. 

Dr. Bestwina has participated in several missions with VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity), including trips to Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Madagascar, most recently.  She feels it is important to give back where you can.  It is an incredible way to serve, meet wonderful people and see some parts of the world you might otherwise not have encountered!

In her free time, Dr. Bestwina enjoys the outdoors.  She loves to hike, camp, ski, mountain bike, and spend time with boyfriend, and two dogs, Finn and Clancy.  She is an avid sports fan, especially loyal to the Chicago Cubs!
